Dr Ed's: Article: Breakfast Is The MOST Important Meal

Studies have shown the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast include:

Energizes you by replacing essential nutrients.
Improves brain function; aiding with learning, concentration, focus and moods.
Stabilizes low blood sugar level from your previous night's sleep.
Regulates blood sugar throughout our hectic mornings.

However, mom was NOT RIGHT when it came to feeding her kids a healthy breakfast...sorry mom.
It wasn't your fault, or the majority of other mom's way back when...you didn't know. You believed that your   doctor, the food industry and the food advertisers were looking after you and your family's best interests. You actually thought they knew best...NOT. Don't breast feed your kids.... formula is better.  Tonsils...who needs them? Sugar coated breakfast cereals are good for you.... the breakfast of champions. White bread and white rice are the highest quality. Wonder Bread... what a crock but people bought it, hook, line and sinker. 

Fact: Protein, good fats and carbohydrates are the building blocks of a high quality healthy breakfast.  

Proteins
Eggs (cage free, antibiotic & hormone free)
Breakfast meats (antibiotic, hormone & preservative free)
Raw organic nuts &  raw nut butters

Fats
Raw unpasteurized dairy; milk, cream, yogurt, kefir, cheese and butter
Coconut cream or oil (organic, unrefined & cold pressed)
Avocado

Carbohydrates
Whole organic fruits & vegetables
Raw unheated honey
Whole grain organic cereals in moderation or not at all
Sprouted or whole grain organic breads or bagels in moderation or not at all

Why NO or moderate grain intake?
Grains are hard to digest, highly allergenic and can lead to excessive insulin production

So, if you are or have:

Overweight
High cholesterol
Heart disease or high blood pressure
Blood sugar problems or diabetes
Arthritic type conditions
Digestive problems
Allergies
Chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia
A weakened immune system

You should avoid grains or severely limit their intake.

If you read my recent email "the almighty egg" you know for the past 8 years the majority of my breakfasts, 99% of them, have been live food smoothies. You would think I would grow tried of them.... but I never do. I'm like a kid in the candy store every morning when it comes to my smoothies. 

If breakfasts were an Olympic event mine would take the gold medal.  I will be on the podium this Wed. at my office repeating my Ultimate Live Food Smoothie Lecture  for those of you who were too preoccupied with the Olympics to attend my last few classes. If you can only attend one of my lectures this should be it!
